Earnings Call Analysis Beyond Sentiment: Said vs Meant as a Signal

Investors read every word of an earnings call, but not how it was said. Cavefish scores the gap between what executives say and how they say it - words, voice and face - and the gap between a company and its outside voices, as a signal funds can backtest.

Transcript (1 minute 10 seconds)

Every quarter, chief executives tell the market how things are going. Investors read every word. What they can't easily measure is how it was said.

When the script says confident, but the voice hedges, the answers get shorter, and the detail drops away, that gap is information.

Cavefish scores it: the words, the delivery and, where there's video, the face, for every executive on every call, and tracks the gap quarter by quarter.

Then it sets what the company says beside what employees, customers and the press say about it, so the gap between inside and outside shows up too.

Funds can backtest the signal against their own data, and take it as a feed through an API, alongside everything else they already buy.

The same engine, sold a second way: not just to the firms having the conversations, but to the people investing in them.

Cavefish. The gap between what's said and what's meant, as a signal.
