Emotional AI & EDI Glossary
Key terms in Decision Intelligence, communication signal analysis and the FACS standard — defined by Cavefish.
Action Unit (AU)
A discrete facial muscle movement as defined by the Facial Action Coding System (FACS). EchoDepth analyses 44 Action Units to measure communication delivery quality.
Credibility Signal
An EchoDepth output measuring the degree to which an audience perceives a communicator as believable and trustworthy, independent of content quality.
Decision Intelligence
The discipline of improving decision quality through better data and analytical frameworks. Cavefish adds the communication signal layer — enabling organisations to know how decisions will land before they are executed.
Communication Intelligence
Technology that analyses patterns in language, tone and delivery to identify where messages will land, where credibility is at risk, and where audiences are likely to disengage.
Communication Congruence
The alignment between the content of a communication and the delivery signals measured by Action Unit analysis. Low congruence is a credibility risk indicator.
Decision Intelligence
The ability to measure and predict how communications and decisions will land before they are delivered. EchoDepth by Cavefish operationalises this for enterprise use cases.
Communication Risk
The probability that a communication or decision will not land as intended — and that the gap between intent and reception will carry a commercial, reputational or regulatory cost.
Communication Risk Rating
EchoDepth's quantified output summarising the probability and magnitude of communication risk in a specific decision, interaction or content delivery.
FACS (Facial Action Coding System)
The gold-standard framework for measuring facial muscle movements, developed by Paul Ekman and Wallace Friesen. EchoDepth implements 44 Action Units under the FACS standard.
Investor Confidence Score
EchoDepth's quantified measure of investor conviction, derived from delivery signal analysis of communications and presentation rehearsals.
Resistance Indicator
An EchoDepth output measuring disengagement and resistance signals in communications — the precursor to visible behavioural resistance to decisions or change.
Trust Score
EchoDepth's quantified measure of audience trust signal strength in response to a communication, interaction or decision.
Communication Depth Model
EchoDepth's multi-dimensional delivery quality framework — providing significantly more granular communication signal analysis than binary positive/negative sentiment classification.
