Welsh AI Company Selected to Present at Europe's Largest Defence Training Conference

Cardiff, UK — January 22, 2026

Cardiff-based AI company Cavefish has been selected to present at ITEC 2026, Europe's largest international training and education conference, taking place at ExCeL London from April 28-30, 2026.

Cavefish founder and CEO Jonathan Prescott will deliver a presentation titled "Feel to Know: Using Emotion to Measure Real Understanding" in the Human Performance Theatre, addressing how emotional signal analysis can be used to assess training comprehension and operator readiness in defence and security contexts.

ITEC is the premier event for the defence training, education and simulation community, attracting military personnel, training specialists, and technology providers from around the world. The conference focuses on how simulation, AI, and emerging technologies can improve military and security training effectiveness.

"Traditional training assessment focuses on what people can recall or demonstrate. But in high-stakes operational contexts, understanding isn't just cognitive — it's emotional. Operators need to genuinely believe what they've learned, trust their training, and feel confident under pressure. We can now measure those signals, which means we can identify where training is landing and where it isn't before it matters in the field."

— Jonathan Prescott, Founder & CEO, Cavefish

The presentation will demonstrate how EchoDepth's emotional signal analysis technology can be applied to training scenarios, helping training designers identify comprehension gaps, calibrate instruction delivery, and assess operational readiness through behavioural and communication signals.

Cavefish is one of a small number of Welsh technology companies selected to present at ITEC 2026. The selection follows the company's win at the ECSO Cyber Solution Days in 2024, where EchoDepth was recognised for applications in insider threat detection and operator assessment.
