Cavefish Defines New Enterprise Category: Emotional Risk Intelligence
Cardiff, UK — May 12, 2026
Cardiff-based AI company Cavefish today announced the formal positioning of Emotional Risk Intelligence as a new enterprise category, with its EchoDepth platform serving as the infrastructure layer for measuring human reaction risk before high-stakes decisions are executed.
The category addresses a gap in enterprise risk management: while organisations rigorously model financial, operational, cyber, and compliance risk before major decisions, human reaction risk — the likelihood that trust will collapse, resistance will emerge, or credibility will erode — remains largely unmeasured until consequences occur.
"Financial risk is measured. Cyber risk is measured. Operational risk is measured. Human reaction risk rarely is. Most enterprise failures are not operational failures — they are failures of human response. Transformation programmes fail because of resistance, not mechanics. M&A deals collapse because of culture, not spreadsheets. Leadership credibility erodes in a single badly-landed announcement. These were not inevitable outcomes. The signals were present — they simply were not measured."
— Jonathan Prescott, Founder & CEO, Cavefish
Emotional Risk Intelligence differs from sentiment analysis, emotion recognition, and employee engagement tooling. Where those platforms describe what people felt after events occur, Emotional Risk Intelligence forecasts likely human response before decisions are executed.
The Category Distinction
What EchoDepth is not: Sentiment analysis, emotion recognition software, employee engagement tooling, behavioural analytics, communications software.
What EchoDepth is: Human response forecasting, emotional risk scoring, trust prediction infrastructure, decision assurance for enterprise.
The platform quantifies emotional risk from video, voice, and text content organisations already possess — earnings call rehearsals, transformation communications, leadership presentations, investor materials — producing Trust Scores, Credibility Signal timelines, and coaching recommendations before delivery.
Why Now
The company cites four converging forces making emotional risk measurement mandatory:
- AI acceleration — Organisations are making faster, higher-stakes decisions about AI adoption and workforce transformation with less visibility into likely human response.
- Declining trust — Employee trust in leadership is at historic lows; hybrid work has reduced emotional visibility.
- Stakeholder scrutiny — The cost of a badly-landed decision, measured in market cap, talent loss, or regulatory action, has increased significantly.
- Regulation — FCA Consumer Duty requires evidence of vulnerability identification; AI governance frameworks are mandating human impact assessment.
"We believe every major enterprise decision will eventually require human response modelling before execution. Cavefish is building the operating system for emotional decision intelligence."
The announcement follows Cavefish's selection to present at ITEC 2026, completion of two accelerator programmes, appointment as strategic partner of AI Wales, and R&D collaboration with Media Cymru and Transport for Wales.
